Merino Lace
Merino Lace sells merino garments and products under the McAuslin label, each made from pure natural merino fibre and hand-crafted by its team of New Zealand merino lace knitters.
The Brief
Merino Lace wanted a Web site, which integrated an easy to run online shop which not only sold their products, but which showcased the unique qualities of New Zealand merino and which enabled them to offer 'specials' or featured products to their viewers.

What We Did
The design
- An elegant design, which used soft, pastel colours to reflect the soft textures of the products and to ensure that displayed products, (photographed in a variety of colours), were seen to best advantage, rather than competing or clashing with the colours of the shop design
- We designed the site with a classic look to appeal to Merino Lace's target audience
- The navigation was kept clear and simple to use, with clear instructions on the buttons on how to shop
The development
- Rocket Cart was slightly customised for Merino Lace with a key emphasis on simplicity. For example, the shop has one main products section so products are just one click away from being viewed
- Featured product option, colour swatches and a basic enquiry form were also included
- Search engine optimised content pages were created to assist with search engine rankings
